Freezing rain. Sleet. Snow. SUNSHINE! *(But don't let it fool ya!)*
This winter wonderland has lasted longer than folks remember any other 'snowy spell' for a long time. However, this is what kind of winters we used to have. I love the snow and know I can get out if I need to. I hate the ice. This body of mine was not meant to ice skate, ice run, ice walk, nor ice crawl. Preferring not to do any of the previous mentioned, I truly could be a hermit on these kind of days since I really enjoy having all of my bones in one piece like they are suppose to be.
It has been nice having my girl-child here even though she has had a nasty 'cold' for almost 3 weeks. Yes, her mother is taking her to the doctor today because the OTC meds just aren't kicking this. Had I taken her earlier, they would have just told me, "Ma'am, it's 'just' viral. It will run it's course." (Don't cha just hate that, too!?) Then, a few days later, you have to go back to the dr. for real medication!
I am grateful that we can get to the doctor, grocery store, WalMart, bowling alley, etc. without too much concern over the conditions of the roads and parking lots. We are blessed.
Now, if I can just get the cat, Oliver, convinced it's ok to dirty up the snow....poor thing, he hates to do his business out there. I even got him a litter box and he will use it for #1 but not #2. I guess he's just forgotten ~ but that it's ok. He can still run across the neighbor's yard to wherever it is he 'goes'. I'm just trying to save him some trouble....but I suppose we all get 'sot' in our ways whether it's snowy or shiny.
POST NOTE TO PREVIOUS BLOG ENTRY: I did NOT receive a rolling pin for Christmas. My hard-working man did not have the time before Christmas to make it for me. I told him it didn't matter...it could even be the 4th of July when I got it....just as long as I had something made by him.
